As a marriage and family counselor for 20 years, I believe that counseling can help people make positive changes in their lives.
Elizabeth Kjellstrand Hartwig, PhD, LMFT-S, LPC-S, RPT-S
Elizabeth Kjellstrand Hartwig has supported clients on their journey in counseling since 2000. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist - Supervisor, Licensed Professional Counselor - Supervisor, and Registered Play Therapist -Supervisor. As a solution-focused therapist, she believes that people have innate strengths and resources that can help them work toward goals in counseling. She provides individual, couples, and family counseling. Specialization areas include self worth, depression, relationship concerns, divorce recovery, military family issues, grief, trauma, and women's issues.
Elizabeth is also an Associate Professor in the Professional Counseling Program at Texas State University. In 2016, she developed the Texas State University Animal-Assisted Counseling (AAC) Academy, a professional training program that promotes the human-animal bond through the study and practice of animal-assisted counseling.
